I was no more than 18 years of age when I encountered ' Women who run the wolves" for the first time. I was a student at Rhodes and for a reason, I cannot recall my Psychology lecturer mentioned this book to us. Being studios as possibly over-eager I found the book at the university library. And I have been trying to read it ever since...its been two decades. I have loaned it from every library that I was a member of - and there have been many- and I have bought and gifted it to friends - again there have been many- but, alas I have never been able to read it.
Towards the end of 2020, my latest copy which I bought using an Exclusive Books voucher I had received two years prior found its way to my nightstand. Again, I read the first few pages, and as it did over the last 20 years the inspiration waned. Until one day in a moment of clarity, I got the message ( from the universe I suppose) that I should stop trying to do this alone, that since wolves move in packs I should find a pack to page through the book with me. And here we are.
I really want to read, experience, and finish this book. From what I understand it is the sort of book that will open up a novel way of being. The sort of book that one keeps going back to on their life journey.
I must also add that as someone who has a long, deep love affair with books I have not been able to read as I have done in past yes. There could be a number of reasons ranging from addiction to electronic devices to adult ADD but I don't want to dwell too much on that. All I know is the I want to read the old fashioned way, to break the spine and feel the pages through my fingers and fall asleep mid-sentence.
I am yet to figure out the how. I've seen 14 chapters, themes,s and tasks and I am sure that the same force that inspired this experience will show me the way. Bear in mind that this is not a class, I am not the teacher but a curious woman in need of pack support. So, let's do this.
We will begin the experience on 1 February 2021. In the meantime, I will ensure that we all have a copy of the book while working on a process that will guide all of us to ' contacting the power of the wild woman'.
