Chapter Five, Week 5

 

 

Five weeks on this adventure of 'awakening the Wild Woman', this chapter is the one that clearly explains the "metamorphosis" I am going through.

 

Women who run with wolves, chapter 5 - Hunting: When the heart is a lonely hunter.

 

This chapter is about finding love, being whole in love and to bare the different phases that comes with that love.

 

Dr Estes explains this referring to the story, The Skeleton Woman. A story about a lonely fisherman who sailed the parts of the sea less sailed, and caught a lonely skeleton - the big catch that changed his life forever.

 

She speaks of the life/death/life nature of Love, which is basically 'the Circle of Life'.

 

We have to live, let our old selves die to give space for the new self. Live, die then live... It's a cycle.

 

"We have been taught that death is always followed by more death. It is simply not so, death is always in the process of incubating new life, even when one's existence has been cut down to the bones."

 

What are your noticeable moments of the life/death/life nature? It is important to note those moments, because it is through them that you will find meaning in life - your purpose.

 

"...Lady Death represents an essential creation pattern. Through her loving ministrations, life is renewed."

 

As I was reading through the seven phases

 

of love, I realise that my skeleton woman, is the little girl I drowned, because she was "too wild" for society.

 

I did not believe in her. I yearned for external validation, so i ran away from her. But she chased after me - I SEE her.

 

"Even running is a process. It is only human to do so, but not for long and not forever."

 

I am on a journey of finding my identity, my purpose and finding true love. The journey of loving myself wholy, living through each phase of this discovery, and accepting the uncomfortable change that comes with it.

 

"There is a vast difference between the need for solitude and renewal, and the

 

desire to " take space" to avoid the inevitable intercourse with Skeleton Woman. But intercourse, meaning exchange with and acceptance of the Life/Death/Life nature, is the next step in order to strengthen one's ability to love. Those who enter into relationship with her will gain an enduring skill for love. Those who won't, won't. There is no way around it."

 

I fell in love with my special person for most of my teen and young adult years, I lost myself in that relationship. Life happened... I was given "the death i needed". It did not make sense then, however, things are starting to unfold and my healing process is birthing every thing new and incredible.

 

"To love is to learn the steps. To make love

is to dance the dance."

 

Dear WOMEN... Find and untangle your Skeleton Woman (Wolf Woman). Be with her in ways that you have never been with her before. Give her the water of life so that she can dance again because...
